The International Symposium on Forest Conservation and Ecosystem Restoration in Asia: Ecosystem Conservation in Transboundary Areas and Science-based Forest Restoration was held in Goseong-gun, Gangwon State, Republic of Korea (ROK) on 21-25 September 2023 during the Gangwon Forestry Exhibition 2023. It was organized by the Korean Society of Forest Science and the Asia Forest Institute (AFI) with support from the Gangwon Forestry Exhibition Organizing Committee and the Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO). This was attended by participants coming from 15 countries in Asia (Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, ROK, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam). The International Symposium was divided into several parts: Pre-Symposium Workshop, Opening Ceremony, Plenary Session, Technical Session, and Poster Presentation.
